Q) Well to start i aint no nerd , i aint no geek ...Im 14 im smart top of the class in all lessons BUT i am Very popular [[without being big headed]] everyone knows who i am and respects me , probably because im one of the strongest in my year but yh everyone likes me....However , i like to play the trading card game Yu-gi-oh , because i think it is a game of smarts and i really do enjoy playing with my friends , trading the rarest cards and so on , but some of my friends are geeks and nerds[[not all of them because some are like me , popular and jus like the game]] and i hear so many people saying its a babies game but how can it be if you actually need to be smart to play it .I really enjoy it and i dont like letting some of my more popular friends know that i play it because it can be embarassing , they dont know i play and ive heard them say they stopped when they were 10 and stuff but at 10 its hard enough to understand the rules let alone play the game..so i need help do i quit? Also there are world tournaments where people win bundles of money , so it cant be all that childish...? A) I'm 23 and loving duelling. I love watching the anime, and reading the manga. I can't get enough of Yu-Gi-Oh! Everyone who says it's a baby's game is ignorant. They have a lack of knowledge on the subject, and a closed mind. If you really enjoy the game, then you must have some duellists pride. NEVER give up something you like to do, simply because those around you don't like it. And how do you KNOW they don't play it anymore. Someone saying they did something is not the same as them actually doing it. I have a friend still in High School. My best friend, actually. Before we met, she was afraid to admit she liked anime in school, because she felt like she'd be picked on for it. When she found out someone my age openly admitted liking anime and games related to it, she changed her attitude completely. And she doesn't get picked on for it. You're right about it though. Yu-Gi-Oh is a strategic game, a lot like chess. You need to think a lot about what you're going to do. If they did quit at ten, then it' probably because they couldn't understand the rules, and gave up in frustration. THAT is what I would call babyish. I'll tell you another thing that might make them think that. In the anime, 4kids have dubbed a LOT of it out. In Japan, there's more "darkness" to it. People don't just get sent to the Shadow Realm, a lot of them get killed. But 4kids don't want children seeing that. So they cut a lot of it out and give people a false impression, different from how the creator intended. At the end of the day, it's up to you. Do you WANT to quit? If you don't want to quit, then don't. Don't let people force you to live your life the way they want you to. You are your own person, and it's your opinion that counts.

On to the question!! i think i get it. your compareson to contact fusion and rituals is right on un! Junk Synchron even comes with a built in method of summoning Junk Warrior because it gives you a lv 2, along with it's lv 3, gives you the level 5 to summon it. what i wonder is if it specal summons it's Synchro from your deck, or just your hand. if it's from hand i doubt it'll see much play, simply because it would take too much to set it up. on the other hand, if it can come from your deck.. it may as well be a cyber dragon as long as theres a lv2 in the grave! and with disc comander so popular, thats no problem, even if you dont get his ability. i like the thought of this type of card alot, but personally, i think it's far too soon to pass judgement on them. but i sure look forward to these cards! ^-^ and i really hope you dont leave any time soon! -glomp- jyaane Duffy-san! The Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game???

Q) I used to play this game all the time, but in 2005 i had given all my cards away. I was 15 i thought i was a bit old for tradign card games :) lol well my best friends (One is 12 the other is 17 like me) they both love the yugioh trading cards, well i started collecting them again, and the 12 yr. old has two egyptain god cards, and i thought that was a little unfair that i have to duel witht that! So i got on ebay and got me an egyptian god card (Ra) But i don't know how to play with it, there are no insturctions on how to get any ATK and DEF points, can you please help me?! Oh and sorry for telling you my boring life story i tend to ramble :) Thanks! A) the ACTUAL effects of the Gods: The Winged Dragon of Ra: this card cannot be normal summoned or set. this card can only be special summon be offering 3 monsters on your side of the feild. this cards attack/defense is equal to the combined total attack/defense of the monsters offered as tributes. pay 1000 life points to destroy one card on the feild. increase the attack of this card by a selected amount of life points you choose to pay. this card cannot be targeted by a spell, trap or monster effect. Slifer the Sky Dragon: this card cannot be normal summoned or set. this card cannot be special summoned except by offering 3 monsters on your side of the feild as a tribute. this cards attack is equal to the number of cards in your hand x1000. when your opponent normal summons, flip summons or special summons a monster decrease the attack of the summoned monster by 2000 attack points. this card cannot be targeted by a spell, trap or monster effect. Which do you like better, Magic the gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game? Why?

Q) some of my friends play magic and some play yu-gi-oh, and they said that magic is alot better. I just want to know wat other people think about them

A) I like Yu-Gi-Oh, but I like Magic better. I'm 23. If I were younger, lets say 10-12, I might prefer Yu-Gi-Oh. Actually when I first started playing trading card games in competition, I liked Yu-Gi-Oh better, but now that I've been playing for a while, my opinion has changed. Here's the reason: I think Yu-Gi-Oh's rules are too simple to hold the attention of an older or experienced player. Yu-Gi-Oh is good for learning to play cards or for an age group that might be confused by a 50 page rule book that can sometimes confuse the best of judges. If you like a game that is fairly easy to follow, then Yu-Gi-Oh is good. But if you start to get bored with how simple Yu-Gi-Oh's rules are and wish you could have more tricks, Magic is your game. I like exploiting rules in Magic that are so tricky that newer or younger players don't see the trick on the board until they're getting hit with it. And when I'm on the receiving end of such a trick, I feel like I can learn from it and grow as a player. I like Magic better than Yu-Gi-Oh from a collector's standpoint as well. Magic has been around longer (in the states - I don't know about elsewhere), so its oldest cards are more valuable than Yu-Gi-Oh's oldest cards. Also, at least where I live, current Magic packs and singles trade for more than Yu-Gi-Oh. So I like that my Magic collection has a higher monetary value than my Yu-Gi-Oh collection and I can make more off my winnings from a Magic competition than from a Yu-Gi-Oh competition if I choose to sell my winnings. Car-Makazi makes a good point - Yu-Gi-Oh does have an annoyingly restrictive Ban List! The tournament just before I pretty much gave up Yu-Gi-Oh, I checked the ban list the night before the tournament and realized the bans completely destroyed the premise and focus of my best deck and there was no way to recover it. I said screw it , went to the tournament just to trade off some cards, and haven't been to another.

Is the Naruto TCG game popular? And is it as popular as popular as the yu-gi-oh! trading card game?

A) The Naruto TCG is too new to tell if its popular. So to answer your second question, no it isn't more popular than Yu-Gi-Oh. Check the official TCG website to see about tournament info. Collecting Yu-Gi-Oh is still ok. Its just that the quality of what we've been getting the past 2 years has been awful. Anyway...I'll be picking up the Hokage starter sometime soon.

yu-gi-oh trading card: does the trap card "pyro clock of destiny" skip your oppont's turn?

Q) the card says: Move the turn count forward 1 turn. The turn in which this card is activated continues as normal. so i'm wondering if this means i skip my opponts turn. thank you for your help!

A) no. it would say something about skipping your opponent's turn if that were to happen. pyro clock of destiny only makes the turn count increase by 1. it's only useful for final countdown

Q) Well, I just started a YGOTCG site today, and was hoping for some critiques and what sections, polls, etc. i should put into it. It is a blog format, similar to Manjyome's Thunder or Shriek's News, and so far, run by three people, the like is below, and fair warning to spammers and flamers, i check my questions several times a day, and if you think you'll just get points by saying something like "yugioh sucks" or "get a life fa**ot" I WILL REPORT YOU http://kdygotcg.tripod.com/kdygotcg/ i'm not saying they should go to mine and mine alone, its just a fun project me and my friends brainstormed and we're hoping that maybe some of the less experienced players will come to us for quick deck advice from one viewpoint, instead of getting barrages in a forum, and to learn about different combos that will just be posted randomly, which i dont see happening on shriek, manjyome, or even tcgplayer anymore, and while that's saddening, we hope to change that. and btw, did you even check out the site, top answerer? chris95711 has been reported, cant say i didnt warn him

A) I'd say you should talk about the new banned/limited list. I should say that you need to consider the ups and downs of having 2x Jinzo, 1x Brain Control and Breaker. I have no other topics of dicussion for now. You should give it more thought and ask the question again in a few days.
